Renegade Craft Faire is around the corner and I’ve spent all weekend working on stuff. I’ll have these vacuum tubes I doodled on, paper cutouts, sculpted little guys and other stuff. Here are a few things you’ll see at the faire. I hope I’ll catch you there!

You know what I love?

I love how my friends know that I love cephalopods so much that they’ll tell me news about cephies or they’ll take pictures and send them to me or feel the need to show me because they know I love them! I was so excited about it that I felt it needed a run-on sentence to convey my feelings. It’s like children that take one breath and start talking about the snails that attacked them during lunch when they were in line for the slide, but the bully cut in line and shoved everyone out of the way, which caused them to not pay attention to the wet ground and the creeping of snails up their pants and closer to their lunchboxes and and and…

You know what I’m talking about. I know you do.

Yeah, kinda stressed out right now. Window display will be up tomorrow at My Trick Pony. I hope you’ll be able to make it to my show!

Slow on the ball…

I’ve been pretty swamped with everything. Allergies have gotten me down and super-slow. I went to Urban Ore, where I got some super awesome vacuum tubes that I’m going to convert into jellyfish. I saw them and I was like… wow, what am I going to do with those? I must do something with them! Then… a sea of jellyfish came to mind in a sort of steam-punk kind of way. We’re going to use bike gears, these little tube guys, cardboard and all sorts of random stuff. You’re really going to have to come to check it out.

Honestly, I’d love to see you there! It’s for the My Trick Pony show on May 1st. I’ve been so behind with everything that I just feel extremely overwhelmed. Alien my little pony is finally complete and pictures will come tomorrow. So many mini-projects that it makes me completely insane! Ahhh! (I guess that’s what makes me so charming.)

Really enjoys crafting!

I really, really enjoy crafting. What I don’t enjoy is listing stuff on Etsy or various other sites. I’m rather bad at listing the stuff I create and even worse at taking pictures of them! I’ve listed a few new things (framed illustrations and figurines) on etsy and I’m thinking about creating the fish-headed business suit armature guy that I’ve wanted to make for a few weeks now. I have it all in my head and I hope I’ll have some progress for you the next few days. Fun!

Fish Kisses

I also hope to see you at my show in May! Graphic designs galore! Fish kisses will be one of the shirts printed. This is an original drawing.

Mad Crafting

Since I got into the New People/Bazaar Bizarre, I’ve been crafting like a fiend. My goal was to create 100 sculptures and 100 cupcakes in about 10 days. That doesn’t sound so bad, right? 10 cupcakes, 10 sculptures and painting 10 each day? Well, I spent all day yesterday cutting felt. If it weren’t for my sister and my good friend Nichole, I don’t think I’d be as far along the process. With my stacks together, ready to be sewn and army ready for paint, It’s proving much more difficult of a task than I had imagined. Since I don’t have a lot of time to blog right now, I leave you with… my miniature army.

Sea Party!

So I’ve started creating these lovely sculpted creatures with intent on painting them. There’s a few painted ones below and I’m still in the process of painting. The plan is to sculpt a whole bunch of weird creatures, and paint the best expressions you’ve ever seen on kitty-costumed cephalopods!

a jellyfish, perhaps?

a painted octopus ninja. can’t you see him hiding inside a cupcake of felt? Yeah… you can.

ohes noes! exposed!

a giver of love.

Custom nautilus

So this month must have been nautilus city. Maybe they’re gaining popularity? Maybe my awesome sewing skills make them more popular? Maybe people realize they must have a nautilus in their lives. Whatever the case, I made two this month. One was a pretty big one with ninety tentacles! Yes, count em, ninety. I was afraid that it wouldn’t look nice because it was completely overstuffed with tentacles. You’ll see the customs below.

Since I have a show coming up in May, I decided (of course) it must be nautically themed. I guess pretty much anything underwater would work for me.I started with this funny looking fish.
