Custom Cuttlefish

I got commissioned to do a stuffed cuttlefish (among other commissions this month) and here are some pictures of the progress:

11 of 17 designs.

So here are 11 of the 17 designs that will be printed on t-shirts. You can choose what style shirt you want and the talented Matteo (from My Trick Pony) will make it right then and there on the fly! Details are attached in the flier below. I hope to see you there!

Still painting…

After all of today, I’ve only painted about 40 and finished sculpting the 40. All in all, a good day. I’m going to paint until I pass out on a painted figure, drooling. I leave you with progress…

Mad Crafting

Since I got into the New People/Bazaar Bizarre, I’ve been crafting like a fiend. My goal was to create 100 sculptures and 100 cupcakes in about 10 days. That doesn’t sound so bad, right? 10 cupcakes, 10 sculptures and painting 10 each day? Well, I spent all day yesterday cutting felt. If it weren’t for my sister and my good friend Nichole, I don’t think I’d be as far along the process. With my stacks together, ready to be sewn and army ready for paint, It’s proving much more difficult of a task than I had imagined. Since I don’t have a lot of time to blog right now, I leave you with… my miniature army.

It’s starting to look like a factory…

I think I might have the assembly line thing down. Okay, maybe not. I did a little procrastination on this site where you can chat with completely random strangers! Anyway, I still managed to get 20 little guys tonight. *Whew* Now onto Javascript homework. I leave you with some pictures of my little army.

Last night

I stayed up past midnight working on these little guys… I’ll sell these in the show on Feb 13th, so if you’re in the market for … one of my… uhh… yeah, anyway, come on by! I’d love to see you!

Sea Party!

So I’ve started creating these lovely sculpted creatures with intent on painting them. There’s a few painted ones below and I’m still in the process of painting. The plan is to sculpt a whole bunch of weird creatures, and paint the best expressions you’ve ever seen on kitty-costumed cephalopods!

a jellyfish, perhaps?

a painted octopus ninja. can’t you see him hiding inside a cupcake of felt? Yeah… you can.

ohes noes! exposed!

a giver of love.

Custom nautilus

So this month must have been nautilus city. Maybe they’re gaining popularity? Maybe my awesome sewing skills make them more popular? Maybe people realize they must have a nautilus in their lives. Whatever the case, I made two this month. One was a pretty big one with ninety tentacles! Yes, count em, ninety. I was afraid that it wouldn’t look nice because it was completely overstuffed with tentacles. You’ll see the customs below.

Since I have a show coming up in May, I decided (of course) it must be nautically themed. I guess pretty much anything underwater would work for me.I started with this funny looking fish.
